The Cost of Rural Crime
In 2017, the cost of rural crime was a staggering £44.5m. With an increase of 13.4% on the previous year, rural crime is rising at its fastest rate since 2010.
In 2017, agricultural vehicle theft reported to the NFU reached almost £6m.
Quad bikes and all-terrain vehicles were the items most commonly targeted on farms by criminals last year, accounting for £2.3m of claims.

Our Story
Back in 2016, Jeff and Elizabeth Hunt moved into an idyllic home on the edge of the Quantock Hills. With that home came a small amount of land and outbuildings. A perfect setting for some livestock and buildings to store the tools and machinery to maintain their smallholding.
Sadly, 2017 saw the first of several break-ins to the outbuildings. As a result, a number of security measures were put in place. Jeff quickly realised that a combination of technology and traditional security was the best answer.
And so at the start of 2018, Clavelshay Rural Security was born with the vision of providing security solutions to make the rural community safer. Jeff’s extensive knowledge and many years experience in the IT industry, hands on practical skills and experience of the challenges of keeping rural properties secure, uniquely position our company to help you.

CCTV
We supply and install state of the art CCTV systems. Whether you’re looking to protect buildings, machinery, fuel tanks or other high-value assets or looking for ways to monitor lambing, calving or other livestock, we have affordable solutions for you.
Solar Gates
Control entrance and exit to your home, farm or stable yard with our innovative solar gates. We supply and install gates that enable you to keep unwanted visitors out and children, pets and livestock away from the dangers of the highway.
Alarms
Knowing when someone enters your property is the first line of defence. We supply and install wireless security beam systems which alert you when they are crossed. We also supply alarm systems for remote outbuildings.
WiFi
Supporting our security and broadband solutions, we install internal, external and long-range wifi solutions. Our solutions enable connectivity of security cameras over distances of multiple kilometres.
4G Broadband
To enable improved broadband for rural locations, we install 4G broadband services. This can dramatically increase download speeds to enable your business to operate more effectively and provide remote access to our security solutions.
